As u can see lyon have some brilliant players such as fred, juninho etc. i would recommend getting a replacement for coupet for GK and getting a good partner for fred and a good DC.
Lyon should win Ligue 1 easily but the challenge is to win the french cup and more importantly the Champions league. Enjoy playing with OG.

I've started as Lyon

Bought in Stephen Appiah (£6m) and Anthony Vanden Borre (£2.8m). Released most of the reserves. Having trouble getting Ben Arfa to sign a new contract. Need back-up for Coupet, and also upfront for Fred and Carew. Anyone with any suggestions?

yeh, im just about to finish my second season with lyon on which has already been a sucessful carrer, in the 1st season, i bought vanden borre and gonzalo higuain and sold patrick muller as i was running at a debt, i lost the champions trophy on penalties to paris, won the league cup beating tolouse in the final and sadly got beat 3-1 by reims in a giantkilling affair in the 10th round of the main cup, i won the league by 10 points and yes, i won the champoions league in a blaze of glory, after qualifying from my group top, with ac milan, anderlecht and cska moscow, i faced psv, cska again and real madrid before taking on liverpool in the final, which i won 4-3 after extra time after john carew and wiltord came on after 90 mins to combine and put in 3 goals. In the second season i only really sold kallstrom and reserve players on frees and signed elano, i won the champions trophy and recently the league cup and i am in the semi finals of the main cup against monaco who were relagated at the 1st season and i was knocked out of the champions league 3-2 on aggregate against man utd in the quarters. With 10 league games remaining i find myself top of the pile with only 1 loss to my name and 20 points clear so roll on a second league title, and one who requires and info feel free to ask and il get back to you when i can.

Just to add, vercoutre is an excelent backup keepers and is currently my first choice having kept 17 clean sheets in 22 games. And jogn carew is by far good enough for the job of partnering fred! last season he got me 23 golas in 36 games and thus far hes been injured mostly but still has 12 in 18 to his name!!!

1 final thing, has anyone found a real gem in there youth team, i have 1 called said mehamha who has very similar mental and physical ratings to that of a mr michael ballack and his techinical attributes are good as well, id post some screenys but im not very good at this kind of thing!

You should keep Carew and play him as your holding forward and Fred as the goal getter up front. Currently over the course of my last fifteen games Carew has got twelve MOM's and thirteen goals and is generally a legend up front!

Vercoutre is a great backup keeper imho. He preforms solidly and it helps to have that solid back four in front of him though.
So all in all have to agree with the mighty Peddro there!

Have found Lyon so far to be a rewarding game so far and the french league throws up a few banana skins here and there too! Keep up the good work guys!
