I'm fortunate enough to have Man Utd as my parent club and have seven players on loan from them.
I can understand about buying players, as have always looked to build squads myself in the past. However, I believe the financial constraints make things a bit tougher in LLM games in FM08, so loaning players is definately the way forward. They cost nothing and at the end of they season, you know they're leaving. Not like when you sign a good player, then he starts to whinge about moving to a bigger club, so you have to sell him.

Try to loan as many players from West Ham as you can, as invariably, the players you get will be at least League 1 standard, when you look at the coach reports.
If you have got a good number of loanees from West Ham, I would expect to be riding high in the BSP. Try having a look at your tactics. One that works really well for my Hyde United team is the Fiora2 tactic. Although some feel it's not as good post patch, my team is playing superb, passing football which is getting the results and is a pleasure to behold.

Please note that with any tactical changes, especially midway through a season, it's worth giving it a little time, as the players will need to adapt to the changes.
Good luck and hope the info is of some use.
