I have been playing as Union Berlin for a while. It not that difficult on the pitch (I am 4th at the moment) but financially, I lose over 200K a month even though I am well below my wage budget and have the 3rd highest average attendance in the league. Thankfully, my board seems quite generous and are giving me cash injections so my debt is not to bad. Out of the 13 non-B teams in my league, 9 have insecure financial status and 4 have okay so it is definitely a tough league for finances

i also find my board are generous to help clear debts
but in a way having received 2.5million quid to help with my finances, I am wondering if this really reflects the status of the German Regional Leagues.
I am 2/3rds through the first season, over 1.5 million in debt - even though I have been 'given' 2.5million
Are clubs at that level that rich?? If so, why did they not just give me 2.5million transfer budget to get the club out of the division at the first attempt |

Ok, so with the new patch I decided to start fresh, and this thread convinced me to try the German league.
I also am concerned that the club and finances seem much better than lower league in other countries.
I have a salary budget of 27k in Regional South, far more than any other lower league I've played in.
Perhaps one of our German Llamas could confirm if the German lower leagues are financally prosperous or not.
Note, I did pick Saarbrücken, which are one of the better teams I think, but others are strong also.

Don't forget what you're looking at is roughly equivelant to Leagues 1/2 in Poofland. It's not that bad a league.

Thanks alkinear
Oops, and I just discovered that Saarbrücken were one of the relegated teams from last season, which explains the high wages, facilities, etc.
Actually the costs are too high, I lost 345k in the preseason month, despite organising home friendlies with Dortmund, Leverkusen and Bremen.
Will be interesting to see what happens to the finances throughout the year.
Regarding strength, it is not far off the top league in Hungary.
What are your parent/feeder relationships like in Germany IRL?
