Rep Power: 0 | 2017/2018 - England/Eastleigh F.C. - English Premier League:
In july, I was approached by England, and didn't have to think twice (hell, not even once ) before leaving Greece. I was still in the same group in the World Cup Quals, but, now, leading it. I was expected to qualify with ease to the WC, and so I did. We beat Greece (2-1 A), Slovenia (2-0 H), Andorra (6-0 A) and Latvia (4-0 A), finishing with a 100% record. We also experimented in friendlies against Morocco (0-1 A) and Egypt (4-1 H). England has been drawn in Group D of the World Cup, alongside Belgium, Paraguay and South Korea.
At Eastleigh, a fight against relegation was again expected by the board and the fans. With the arrival of a very good Bulgarian striker from Lecce, I thought mid-table obscurity was a realistic target. In total, 21 players were bought, spending £11.5M. We also got £2.7M through the sale of 4 blokes during the season.
The team did very well during the whole season, performing above everybody's expectations, specially when playing the giant clubs. The signing of Bulgarian striker proved to be a wise move, as he formed a terrific attack line with my star Italian striker. We spent the first half of the season bouncing between 5th and 7th places. After improving and even occupying the 2nd position for a few rounds, we finished in a respectable 4th spot.
For next season, stadium is getting once more expanded. The team stats show that our defence needs to improve, so finding ourselves a solid DC shall be the main target of the summer. Many of our players are wanted by big teams from all over the world, and it will be hard to keep them all here .

I think I'll enter in the 3rd Qualifying Round in the CL.
I'll confirm this when I load the game again. Probably only next week, due to university and girlfriend taking precious FM time. |

Rep Power: 0 | World Cup 2018:
Hosts: Argentina
Holders: Italy
Group Stage:
South Korea 3-5 England
Paraguay 2-1 England
England 5-0 Belgium
Second Round:
Mali p1-1 England :eek::eek::eek:
The team only performed well in the match against Belgium. For some reason I couldn't figure out, we were tactically outclassed in the other two games. We ended in 1st place, anyway. Another poor performance in the Second Round, crowned with a shameful elimination in the penalties saw us out of the World Cup. I resigned right after the match. And I'm through with managing nations. Two years of that and no form of consistance found. That's not for me.

Oh, and condolances on the England exit. I'm with you on your newfound nations management attitude, I always found it to be way too much hassle.

The summer saw a lot of transfer activity in Eastleigh, with the most notable moves being the sales of Bulgarian SC (Arsenal - £25M) and Italian D/M R (Villarreal - £10M) and the arrival of two great DCs (Metz - £10M / Derby - £5M). In total, £xx was spent to bring in yy players, and an income of £xx was generated by the selling of yy players.
In Champions Cup, we defeated Fenerbahçe in the 3rd Qualifying Phase (3-1 agg), and were drawn in a tough group, alongside Juventus (holders), Benfica and Rangers. The group proved to be easir than expected, as we finished 1st, with 11 points. On the 1st Knockout Round, we got through CSKA Moskow (7-0 agg). We then defeated Barcelona (5-1 agg) and Roma (5-4 agg) to reach the Final, against Tottenham. In a tight match, we were unable to beat them, mainly because French DC decided to give away two goals , causing the final result of 1-2.
The team did very well in the Premier League, despite the large amount of injuries during the first half of the season . But, after all, I guess that's why we're supposed to have some squad depth . With the defence improved, the team felt a lot more reliable, and our performances were always solid. The investment made in youth during recent years has also proved to be a good move, since a lot of players came from our youth ranks and had good performances. At the end, we finished 2nd, 6 points behind Chelsea.

FA Cup: Eastleigh 1-3 Chelsea - 6th Round

Rep Power: 0 | 2019/2020 - Eastleigh F.C. - English Premier League:
The transfer window in the Summer was not very busy for Eastleigh, apart from the selling of our key Italian striker to Chelsea, for £32M. In January, though, we spent a massive £43M on 2 signings. In total, we sold 3 players for £36M.
In our second Champions Cup appearence, we started once more in the 3rd Qualifying Round. A 4-0 aggregate win against CSKA (Sofia) made us reach Group G, alongside Ajax, Betis and Olympiakos. We had no troubles in that, and finished 1st, with 13 points (4-1-1). We defeated Feyenoord (4-3 agg in two tight matches) at the 1st Knockout Round and Tottenham (5-2 agg) in the Quarter Final, but lost to Valencia (0-1 agg) on the Semi Final.
In Premier League, we started in an awful form, being in 10th after 7 games. But, from then on, we did a lot better, reaching 3rd place after a few games, and fighting against ManUtd and Chelsea for the first positions. ManUtd eventually left the fight, so it was only us and Chelsea for the title. I thought this was the year to be champions, but we lost some precious points because fixtures gave us little time between matches, and finished once more in 2nd, 3 points behind Chelsea.
Premier League - 2nd: Won 21 Drn 7 Lst 10 For 87 Ag 50 G.D. +37 Pts 70
FA Cup: Eastleigh 0-1 Everton (PRM) - 4th Round
League Cup - Final: Chelsea 3-2 Eastleigh I've decided to extend my contract for two more years, because the team is very close to winning its first Premier League title, and I also have some confidence in doing well in Champions Cup again. |
