Default Part-Time clubs - offering full-time contracts

A few questions for anyone!

Does anyone ever do this? Does it actually make any difference?

Does it make it more likely that your club will turn full-time?

Is it realistic to offer full-time contracts at a part time club?

Why would a player respond with 'would prefer a part-time contract' ? Unless they had a super-fantastic normal job I guess.

1. Yes. Don't know.

2. No. Only the fact that you are in a position to offer them (and can afford them more importantly) might be an indicator that the club might go full-time too.

3. Yes. Many part-time clubs have one or two professional full-timers on their books.

4. What you said (although super-fantastic they needn't necessarily be - as long as it's over the wage you're offering...) - or they might be at university or something.

1. Yes, but I will not offer someone a full time contract for less than 200 quid a week. As far as I know it does nothing except set the player up with a full time training schedule.

2. No idea.

3. No idea.

4. I always assumed that message meant give me more money I have a wife and child to support, and my job at McDonalds doesn't play that well.

What the other poofs said.

I just think you have to be realistic, and make usre your turnover matches your ability to pay full time wages.

Putting a player on a full time contract is supposed to improve their attributes as they have more time in training apparently.

Make sure you have some coaches on full time contracts though as otherwise they will be putting the cones out themselves!!

Because all part-time staff work on the same days, don't they.

I would imagine that a part-time club would, say come in for training 2 nights a week, so yes the coaches would come in at the same time but on a part-time basis.

I reckon its a fair point from ryu, might explain why my current team is doing so badly!

Yes, but if they had a number of full time players, I'm sure that they'd review the coaches' shifts.

Yes. Yes, they train more.

I think so.
Is it realistic to offer full-time contracts at a part time club?
Yes, if the board is happy.

IRL East Stirling players are on £10 per week part-time. Upping their wages to full-time would still be pretty modest. Any bog-standard civvy job would pay better - heck, even the bargirls down my way would hesitate.
