Default couple of questions

What are the current thoughts on scheduling friendlies between a lower league team and an upper league team?

Also, what are thoughts on scouting teams in your league and other leagues in your nation? Mainly, I'd like to know in regards to how quickly the scouts come back with reports.

If you can arrange a friendly with a top team then go for it. I used to think it was a cheating way of making too much money until last night. I had a home tie with Charlton as part of a transfer and the number of people who decided to turn up for this highlight????

178

Not sure what you mean on the second one. Yes scout teams in your nation and follow their guidance.

I think most Llamas let the Assistant manager arrange the friendlies, I like to add a few more friendlies against really crap team or my under 18's just to get the boys scoreing a few goals. But appart from that the ass man seems to do a resonable job.

I don't send my scouts to scout a club I just tell him to wander around England aimlessly and tell me what he sees.

Playing in the Swedish second division I can sometimes entice a higher league team to play friendlies against us, but most friendlies are against equally low opposition. I play loads, because of the short season in Sweden. The money I make from the friendlies is negligable.

Ive found that in my game in Scandivia players seem to take at least 4 games each to get match fit. This is especially difficult in Finland where there is no reserve league.

I let my assman do it, but usually include a couple of my own as well, or sometimes a tour, to give everyone a run in pre-season.

I guess I was asking a reality question since I don't live in Europe.

I've been playing in Sweden and it seems it's fairly easy to get multiple friendlies scheduled with the higher level teams in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.

I know that if I was a manager I would try to get as many friendlies as possible since we have a long off-season, but I don't know if this is a standard practice.

Thanks for the info.

I let my Ass man schedule but then if there are gaps pre season or during a longer mid season break, I might schedule some extra but I only schedule against teams of a similar calibre to mine ie crap.

I never make maoney as no one comes to watch, I simply use them to try out things and get the guys match fit.
