It seems odd the values people are getting for players. One of my friends got 40 M GBP over 24 months for Rio Ferdinand. :eek:

40 M GBP = 81.72 M USD
80.69 M CDN
55.9273 M Euro

Apparently he got the same amount (over 24 months) for Carrick :eek:

Not sure about it.

But Ive found myself unable to attract stars cause of my team reputation, so Ive started to buy future stars in hopes of improving my team.

After 2-3 youngster being sold by my chairman for u$ 10-15m, now as soon as I see some interest shown on them, I just set my asking price to the max allowed. Usually only 95m, cause they are only "hot prospects" or so.

Later I keep rejecting offers of u$ 2-9m till someday they meet with my chairman and make the deal.

Top local stars are valued around u$ 20m, but they will never move to my team.

I had the same poblem in fm07 as Peterborough, within 5 years I was a top championship club, had a great scouting network so was picking up youngsters left, right & centre bu after 6 months to a year my hairman would accept any bids for them, not even at the ridiculous end of things, I think the most I got was 14m for my star centre mid who'd only been there for a season & was already valued at around 4m anyway. It got to the stage where I was having to go out & replace half my 1st team every summer & 1 or 2 others in the january window.

Damn interfering chairman.. not had it yet in fm08, still finishing off the 1st season so don't exactly have any world beaters in league 2!

Not had it happen yet in my man utd but a few of my mates have said that the gnome is making a quick buck every transfer window on someone, one example is ronaldo was sold to Arsenal for 20m which is ridiculous!

No-one seems to be making the comment that this makes a total mockery of the game?

Is this going to be fixed in the new patch? Otherwise it's not worth playing. Only a pillock wants to play a game this unrealistic.

You know, FM has never been very realistic concerning third world leagues... as a matter of fact ferro being one of the top 10 richest clubs in the world is absolutely outrageous, even being the year 2016...
If it were a little more attached to reality, clubs should have a monetary deficit every month unless selling their star players, and you know that doesn't happen in FM. I recommend you try to avoid using south american teams too long because their growth potencial is very limited & you will eventually get stuck.

And it always works the same way. Teams start offering reasonable money, I set its asking price to max allowed (75m) cause I just want my players.
Teams then start offering about 10m. If I reject, then my player gets mad by not letting him move, so I negotiate offers asking max allowed on 24 months.

Sooner or later, they buy it thru my chairman
