i did a simple thing...uninstalled the game and am playing without a patch now... and what a difference!! Strikers actually score goals :eek: and defenders dont get sent off every match

The closing down is far worse than the too many chances issue.

The tactics I use dont create an abnormal amount of chances, although I do get too many one on ones and a low conversion rate.

Id rather that than watch my team unable to close the opposition down.

Others have said the 1st beta patch is the best as it solves closing down and the chances created are better.

Not any bad word about the commitment of SI or about these legendary series, but how on earth can they release a game with such clear bugs as that disallowed goal one is just beyond me. Those deadlines must be awful to work with if you consciously have to release a game from which you clearly can see that there are faults in it.

It's true, Frazier Campbell was denied a hatrick of chances in one game from this. What's worse is the poor guy can't even head! I do enjoy the uphoria followed by the anguish that a disallowed goal brings.

Actually, my favourite game this season was against WBA which finished 0-0 and Iain Turner had the game of his virtual life. When I did finally beat him in the 92nd minute it was disallowed! Gutted but excited all at once. Maybe I'm just not a winner...

I am back on the first beta, and enjoying the game a lot more.

Too many red cards, unrealistically high scores and morale is shocking, but a pretty decent match engine.

out of the box was God awful. Players strolling 60 yards without one tackle being made. I love the patched game, and match engine.

Im happy with the official patch too, get a few too many one on ones which arent converted but I can live with that.

Think it depends on what tactics you want to use, mine seem realistic but others that are getting 30 shots a game can understandably be less happy.

TBH the new patch makes the game sooo much better, i actually want to play it now whereas before the little things bugged me a bit but i love it! looking forward to a week off for xmas. FM here we come!! lol
