Is there a way to get some nationality variation in your academy intake? I always get all english players with maybe a welshman or a scot thrown in. I've had a little diversity happening in previous FMs but never deliberately. I think having a small number of foreigners thrown in makes it more realistic. I know it seems kind of pointless but its something i'm curious about. Is it dependent on nations loaded, scouting knowledge, where your scouts are reporting on or what?
I'm not sure, but rarely I've had a New Zealanders coming through my academy in England, and my nationality is New Zealand, so looks like that has an effect on the game.
when with a bigish club you often get people from around the world although it seems you get 5 englishmen, couple of europeans and a couple from random countrys like Burma.

Staff nationality and knowledge will attract youth from those countries.
Correct, you are getting New Zealander's because your knowledge of New Zealand will be high, as you increase your knowledge through scouting etc you will get more nationalities.
Try hiring staff from abroad as they will know more about other countries e.g. at FC Bayern I have 3 Brazilian coaches so every season I get 2 or 3 Brazilian youngsters come through.
ok thanks, now that i look at it i've got widespread scouting knowledge but my staff is mostly english with no other nationality having more than 2 members.
I think your nationality could have an impact, on 07 during my 'barcelona super squad' game, I had a couple of mexican youngsters, not only is that my 2nd nationality but I was also national team manager at the time. I haven't seen one in my academy so far in 08 though, and I'm in sept 2013
as ACJMY2K said when you ask the board to get feeder clubs they will give you 4 to choose from if yuo take the ones from foreign lands it often says that it will be a good opputunity to get youth players from that country
