Have got a DMC sweeping up in front of the back 4 who's just supposed to play it simply & keep the ball moving around who usually gets a 6 or 7 rating...no more, no less. But that kind of symbolises that he's my unsung hero of the team who goes about his business doing all the simple things well

I also want to add, that the difference between good and bad players is harder to distinct, you can have a DM from the reserve team playing as well as Patrick Vieria.

Thats why i said in a perfect world there could be a arcade option for people who dont watch any of the games.

Summed up perfectly, there are hard working players which are loved by their fans but other fans dont care about them because they dont watch every game.

With perfect mirror reality stats you could list every player in a position according to their stats and easily pick which the best players, which would not be very realistic woudl it?

It's also due to the score as well. If you win 4-0 all of your players will get 7 or 8 even though they may have played a poor game.

I see it all the time in my game. I have a very good attacking team and when I score lots my whole team gets major high ratings. I am not upset about that but the problem I really can't tell who is playing good and who is playing bad because half the team is riding coattails to a 7 or 8 rating.

I have a different problem, the ratings for my defenders are fine as they generally get 7's for a good game, 6 for below standards, and 8's when they dominate in the air and have loads of interceptions. 9-10's are very rare unless the entire team plays well, although I've seme those ratings for the AI.

It's my central attacking midfielder that always gets low ratings, despite making many key passes. This might be because he doesn't have the chance to beat people, make tackles, or break up play. His job is to create opportunities, so he tries killer balls all the time, and in turn his pass completion is usually lower than the rest of the team, but the ones that do succeed are killer balls and sometimes assists. Yet he still gets 6's mostly.

I had Ever Banega for 11 seasons, won awards left right and centre worth 30M, never averaged above 6.9.

I dont mind the ratings, as long as i'm not gonna get the press/fans talking out in the media, saying i should drop my DMC/CM cos he is playing rubbish (eg. 6.77), when by all accounts, he's doing everything right

In FM07, you got this media message every now and then, probably with the above average rating, and because players mainly got high scores, you could agree

Would it be fair to say this media news doesn't happen as much now with the slightly lower rating? I dont want the press getting on my dominant DMC's back just cos ratings have been tweaked! Anybody had it yet?

The old system was far too unrealistic. During a single match several players could get themselves a 10. In reality, how many players play a near perfect game all at the same time? Even a 9 is rare.

Anyone in the old games who averaged less than 7.2 was dissappointing for me,but that isn't realistic. Now anyone who can consistantly pull in a 7 generally stays in the side. The only exception being strikers, as the tend to be judged on scoring goals,rather than all-round play(I play with a TM who's job it is to bring others into the attack). If my striker is doing the job I want him to do he stays in the side, he doesn't need to be the goalscorer.

I find the AMC only gets a decent rating when the teams scores lots, or he scores a goal. In a 0-0 draw it is almost impossible for the AMC to get anything beyond 6.

But really as a AMC your role is to generate offense, and if you haven't done that then why would get a good rating?
