Just how important is it to say the right thing at half time? should i leave my assistant manager to do it? are there things i should definately not say? thank you


p.s. can anyone reccommend me a good assistant manager to replace Adams at Portsmouth?

If your ass man is world class then leave it to him.

But team talks do change outcomes. I will it does for me since Im LLM. When I was manger of united it didnt seem to do anything.

I've found that more or les sticking to the "Don't get complacent/Don't let your performances drop" is the safest option when you've got the lead.

I never use delighted, if I am delighted I always say i'm pleased. Same way with being unhappy, I usually vere towards the middle instead of goinf for one of the extremes.

I found it relatively safe to stick the Assman in charge on FM07 but less so in 08, although that may be down to the quality of the assistans I've had so far :-)

I don't let my assistant ever do any team talks. For halftime talks I always use encourage/you can win this/only need 1 more goal or if we're winning then don't let your performance drop. For pre-game talks I usually use for the fans or good luck, but occasionally I use I expect a win.
