i installed football manager 2007 then installed the 7.02 patch so i get transfer updates etc. i then start the game and my game automatically uses to 7.00 original database. how can i get it to use the updated database i get from the patch? PLEASE HELP ASAP

If you installed the patch then it sounds as though it hasnt worked. check FM and see what version your running. If its a custom db then it needs to go in My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2007/db not C: Program Files

no its the database that gets installed by patch it says 702 in the db folder in program files... can someone help please...

When you click the football icon to start a new game a "choose database" box should appear.
The first line says database and then the version number.
There should be a little white arrow head at the end of the first line. If you click it a list of available databases should appear. Then you pick from the list.

Thats how it should work. If not check if it is installed in the correct place by going into:
C/sports interasctive/fm07/data/db
You should have a folder for each patch you have installed.Named 700 , 701, 702.
If they are all there look inside the folder for a xml file. if your folder was called 702 the xml should be called 702.xml if your folder was called Barry the xml file should be called Barry

On the preferences screen before you start a new game you can tick use wizard when starting new game.(some think this makes a difference)

If all of this does not work try uninstalling. Then reinstall and do 701 and 702 patches again.



Hope this helps. I have not had a problem with the patches myself, but these are the things i would Try if i did.

P.S Make sure your game is not running when you run the .exe file that installs the patch.

ive reinstalled it and its still using "700" as the default database what can i do??
