Would it be possible for me to disable national teams. And national competitions. And put clubs into a league, but filled with the players from the respective national teams?

Unfortunately, you can't disable national teams nor competitions.

Its a nice idea but one flaw you would have is that you wouldn't be able to stop player transfers, meaning Joh Terry could end up playing for the likes of Germany!

A good idea for future versions though?

The idea of being able to run an international league would be great, being able to pool players from the nation and pit your witts against the rest of the world would be a fun feature. No club teams involved.

There are rules for Ath Bilbao, whereby they can only buy Basque players, so surely it wouldnt be hard to add these rules for national teams?

IE make a rule so that only England can 'buy' English players?

...if said rule wasn't hard coded, then yes. But it is. So no.

idea for this:

try to add all of your "respectable" players into the list of the players the club dislikes.

It's a lot of work but it may be done. It won't stop young talents joining the wrong clubs but you won't see Terry in a german club.

It's possible, but you have to manage every team to prevent transfers and such. Here's a pic of a test one I did with the Australian League. I put it on holiday for the season.

I think it would be a good idea for a network game, if everyone needs to manage a team.
