But wouldn't it be good to create a database which had the absolutely best players of all time playing for the great European sides?

For example, Marco Van Basten could be playing alongside Andriy Shevchenko at AC Milan, or Bobby Charlton alongside Ruud Van Nistelrooy at Manchester United?

It'd be an interesting project, but is there a way of deleting every player from the database quickly?.

The second issue would be getting the teams to all fit into one league, although I think that would be a lot simpler.

My proposition would be to run the league for one season only, based in the English Leagues.

Only the cream of Europe would be allowed to participate:

Ajax, AC Milan, Inter, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Man Utd, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc.

So to reiterate, only using the BEST players to EVER play for that team. (with the players at the team they are most recognised for playing at).

Just an idea but it's a fairly large project to take on so I doubt I'll carry it through unless there's a good response.
