Personally I use global passing on everyone except my GK and DC's who have mixed as I have come to believe that individual passing overides global, making a tactic a lot less flexible. However this is mainly because I tweak passing a fair bit along with tempo.
So, if you use individual passing a lot, how do you set it up? I know a lot use slightly longer for defenders and shorter for strikers. Do you tweak it often, if so how and do you think the global slider has any effect at all if you use individual? If you use individual and don't tweak it much either, how do you use tempo? And if you don't tweak passing much, how successful are you with this?
i generally use global passing throughout the team (which is usually shortish). i'll put my DC's a bit shorter tho as i just want them to play simple passes to keep posession. i always use a DM as my playmaker so i put his individual passing on direct so he spreads play all over the pitch
I usually look at my team first, but gravitate to global passing, with direct passing at the back by my DCs. I find that's usually the best option.
It also depends on the team you have. I've used direct passing a lot with top teams to great effect. Like all things it depends on what you have to start with
