Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default A couple of questions on training

In FM2005 I always used to take players off training in the summer break so that they didn;t suffer later on in the season. Should I also be doing this in FM2007? If so, there isn't a "suspend training between dates" option - do I just put them individually to rest, or create a schedule with no workload?

I am playing in Austria, which has a longer winter break than between seasons in the summer. Because of this I've taken all my players off training for a month in the winter break - while all my rivals are playing friendlies. The stats of my players have all red-arrowed - am I going to suffer when the season restarts?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Players now go on a break auto at the end of a season

Dont take them off training, only do that in the summer. If not they will be resting more than they are actually training so players will hardly improve.

When the season ends, I always tweak my training schedules a little. I make it more physical rather than technique. I just feel that its a time to become physically prepared with more fitness rather than ball work, which they will get threw the season anyway. Granted I still do some ball work, as it would be stupid not to.
