Off to Italy for 2 weeks. While Europe is a popular destination, most probably head down to Mexico or the Carribean or travel within the US whic is comparable to traveling distance-wise through Europe. We can historically travel further distances than Europeans without a passport (pre-EU days), never needed one for Canada and Mexico as well as the Isalnds
