Apparantly it's a right bugger this Steam program, you can't play HL without loading up Steam and you've got to activate the game and wait (in some cases ages) for it to be validated before you can even play offline.

I'm hoping by the time mine gets delivered all the queue's have died down a bit and I can get it all to work ok and not have to wait.

Ridiculous really, spending your money on a game and not being able to play on it because there's too many people trying to activate it at the same time :thdn:

yeah im waiting a few days now as my mate still hasnt been able to activate his yet

I bought mine on the day of release...activation took about half an hour...it was a little annoying but more than worth the wait.

I got it through Steam as I had the activation key with my Graphics card. Took around 1.5-2 hours to download. When I run it now I have to load steam but it only takes a few minutes to load the game. Good game, as I'm in Oz FM2005 is still not here, should be tomorrow

have just finished the first season with Liverpool and came a respectable 3rd, 1 point behind chelsea. was looking to go on a little spending spree, when i discovered that the board would only give me 1.4million to spend. i shall have to search through the rejects

What's annoying is that god damn stutter throughout the game, are you not getting it at all?

Looks to be a huge problem judging by the 40 odd page (last time I checked) thread on http://www.halflife2.net/forums

It is spoiling my enjoyment quite a bit. They better release a fix soon.

stutter? nope, my PC kicks ass :cool:

I get a slight slowdown everytime a new part of a level is loaded but it only lasts about half a second, I can live with it
