I've had this really annoying problem: when opposition clears with a long ball, my defender chases the ball. Opposition's striker follows the ball but is not even close to it or my defender.
When my defender reaches the bouncing ball, he heads a weak header backwards (even though he's not in a hurry, the striker isn't anywhere near him and my GK isn't coming to the ball) which leaves the striker collecting the loose ball and 1 on 1 with my goalie.

Anyone else have this same problem? It's driving me bonkers when some of the world's best defenders act like this many times in a season.

i have that problem too but not often. another annoying problem is when a defender or full back is near that ball he stops and slows down and even if the opposition player is far he will just come gather the ball however close my player is.
