Frankly I don't think we need a shortlist. It'd serve no purpose. By the time we'd be done with it, '08 will be upon us and we'd have to toss the list away and start a new one.
I've given up on trying to understand '07. And I'm waiting to see what's the user commentary on '08. Not reviews.
Unfortunately I can't bring myself to buy another FM installment cold turkey, as I have in the past.
I've already pre-ordered 08 since this game is my religion, but for the first time ever, I will be going into the game apprehensively to say the least.
As for the reviews, they are utter pish. This game can not be reviewed instantly. I've said it before — I reckon if this game was reviewed now, it would score much lower than its original scores. Magazines are quick to heap praise on this game because it does look like a diamond from the outside, but once you get in there, it's nothing but a big let-down to be honest. Wow! that was really hard to say! The fun has been stripped in this version, and I am sure many would agree that 06 was a lot more enjoyable. I enjoy the challenge of 07, but as Chandaman once pointed out, half of the game has evolved before the other half was ready. You can't have such an 'advanced' AI (if it really is), without having the necessary tools to combat 'it'. Trial and error is not the way forward; we clearly need a feedback system. Those of you who can 'understand' FM, my hat goes off to you, but I've been playing real football since I was 4 years old and I've been playing this game since I was 11. I know the game, and what I am seeing at the minute is not football, it's more like chess. And whether you are playing Hull City or Real Madrid, the AI is always the master.
i have to agree! it doesnt matter if your real madrid or hull city, it seems youve got just as much chance beating/losing to either team no matter who you are!

I dont claim the game cheats or agree with everything arteta says but something is funny with the game. I was playing with arsenal the other day, i was away at portsmouth. I was dominating the match and was winning by 2 goal s at half-time. On the 60 minute mark a pass to a pompey player out wide led to a cross. With no pressure whatsoever, gallas my top CB headed the ball in his own net!!!! NO one around him for miles, I swear. Then before i could make a change owen scored in the very next highlight. For the rest of the match nothing much happened. Normally i would go this is football but a similar incident happened with Gallas the season before where a cross came in and under no pressure he headed it in his own goal.
I have given up on football manager for now because i won everything in two season but still lack consistency and dont know what my tactics are doing. Also i need to exercise and get out more.
Yes. Paul Robinson, for no apparant reason, flapping at what should have been a relatively easy cross for a £40,000 per week keeper, allowing a weakend opposition to score a 1 yard tap in.
Moments of madness happen all the time in this game and I feel the are the game's way of communicating to you that something is wrong. Whether it's cheating or not, it's certainly not logical.
Take my last match with Newcastle: Home to Fulham. 0-0 at half-time and I'm absolutely dominating possession 60% - 40% with 15 shots 5 on target. It's a muddy pitch so I have Given set to long ball 'aim for Viduka.' In the 85th minute, Given gets the ball at his feet and passes it straight to Mr McBride who is one-on-one with the keeper. Steven Taylor catches him, brings him down in the box, for a penalty and earns a red card for his troubles. I lose 1-0 and this is Fulham's only shot on target. I have an archive of ridiculous moments that have no explanation. I've noticed now that these things happen only when you are a. too good for the AI, or b. in a slump. The truth is, the AI is merciless in its punishments toward you, which is why the game often feels unjust and highly illogical.

Can I see the PKM and have a look? I can then maybe see something wrong that you cannot see. I did the same with hammer100 earlier and hopefully gave him some new ideas to think about as to why stuff is happening etc.
I can when I get to my brother's, Cleon. I've told him to continue the game without me and he mentioned this is what happened. I'm not sure what you are going to find though, since no tactical implementation would have stopped Given from doing what he did. It's not as if we can set our players up from goal-kicks anyhow.

Thanks. It will still be interesting to see it happen and the whole build up of it
I wish my brother gave me indepth reports, id never have to play again
