I have been playing FM since it was first released and am an avid fan.

However since purchasing the 2007 version of this game I am slightly peeved with it. Let me explain.

I have played as a number of different teams using several different tactics ( some of my own and some of the once from different sites ). In all my time playing this game I have been able to do quite well but with this game no matter who I buy of what formation I play the team seems to lose games and goals rapidly.

Now I understand the game is getting harder and also there are more things that affect the overall outcomes of matches but lets face facts, over a season the better team with better players will win but with this game this seems not to be the case.

I am playing a online game against my mate ( I am Leeds and he is Norwich ) in season 2. We are both still in the Championship but after 20 games he both of us are below 17th in the league. We have both spend some money and got far better players than the opposition but I cant fathom how we are not winning.

Please some feedback would be great.

I have downloaded a number of things but simply this is nonsense. A team with better players playing a decent formation over a season will beat lesset teams but this is apparently not the case with this game.

I simply cant understand how this is possible

if that was true how come Greece won Euro 2000,
(England, italy, spain,......had far better team)
It is true FM 07 is far harder than FM 06, 05
as tactic has bigger influence.
big players dont mean anything without good manager or a tactic which suits them good.

I accept this as fact, however when I take supposed trialed tactics from internet, or devise my own, have better players i cant accept that after 20 odd league games to be 18th place when teams that are far poorer than mine over this beat me week in week out.

maybe its becuause the tactics that you are using are not good enough. maybe they dont suit your players. the list is endless. what you need to do is to keep your tactics simple (defult tactics are very good and already balanced) and tweak them as you go along (this is what is called adapting). i did this with man u recently and just won the domestic double.

one thing i have found out is youhave to pay alot of attention to the individual instructions and compare them with the players stats i did this and my defence is now sound and midfield creats lots of chances the only problem i have is goals.

Also look at the morale of your players if it is poor than your players will lack in confidence and that is a problem.

I play a 4-4-2 diamond with individual tweaks to suit the players. (Player Instructions.) It has worked wonderfully I've played 4 full seasons and I have won, 4 Domestic League Titles, 2 Domestic Cups, 1 Champions League and a European Super Cup.

Logical tactics are the key.
