Does anyone else find that when tight-marking the ST's they seem to get in behimd a lot as your CB misses a interception to a through ball?

I get that alot as well and it often stems from me attacking. What happens is as I get back possession in my own half or clear my lines my centre halfs move forward and completely ignore the striker as follows:-
I’m West Ham. Reo Coker (no 20) tries a through ball to Castillo (my no 12) which was intercepted by Kroldrup. Look at where Yakubu (Middlesbrough no 20) and my centre half Daniel Agger (no 2) are.
Kroldrup’s interception lands at their guy circled in black who pings a through ball for yakubu as illustrated by the yellow arrow, who my centre half is completely oblivious to.
Is there anything I can do about this or is it, as I suspect, just the way defenders are programmed to behave (I've seen this with centre halves at all levels in the game).
