| As has been said Barry Ferguson was captain for Blackburn, and he admitted it was a step down afterwards.
You are being selective in your choices however and fail to mention a certain Mikel Arteta who was very inconsistent up in the SPL and I could even say he struggled, however he is currently one of the very underrated players in the EPL now, he is looking class for Everton. Quote:

| You are fooling yourself to say that. Henrik Larsson was world class and it is certainly not easy to score against spl opposition like you are saying when they have all their men behind the ball, afterall back then it was their big game and they upped their performance specifically for facing the old firm to make a name for themselves and try and get noticed to make the step up.
Larsson took an average and failing celtic team and made them a force, was probably one of the best pieces of business made by celtic, he joined them for very little and became such a class player.
Oh and can I add on wiki it states his appearances/goals scored for international games as 93 played, 36 scored. And also he overcame a long term injury (out for about a year) and when he returned he became one of celtics best, many a player would have came back a different player.

The unrealistic transfers continue...
Not only is Nakamura not worth even a quarter of that amount but Reading would never spend money like that on one player.
| well there is bound to be alot of unrealistic transfers as this is a computer game not real life

Sorry but are people saying Larsson was no good? NO good? Hah! After being a Celtic season ticket holder for 10years, he is the best player alongside Lubomir Moravckic (sp?).
242 goals in 300 odd games? Won the CL for Barca? No good? Don't make me sick!

Celtic fan here...
I think Naka is over-rated. He is undoubtedly very talented but he is not world-class for a few reasons...lack of real pace, rarely controls a game etc.
I think if he was top class he wouldn't be at celtic unfortunately, but that's not because celtic aren't a major club, its cos we're stuck in the SPL... but you can only beat whats in front of you.
As for Larsson, i thot his spells at Barca and Man Utd proved he was a great player. And he got alot of caps for sweden. USA 94? Beat England a good few times too i remember...so we're not talking about a diddy national team.
And just to be neutral and mix it up...
Was Gazza world class? He came to Rangers...is that cos he wasnt good enuf to play anywhere else?
Brian Laudrup? Played for Rangers...was he not good enuf to play for a top european team?
Let the SPL/Celtic bashing continue...

| Comments like that make you a cantankorous, s**t stirring *****. If the Scottish league is so bad, why is the national team ranked 12th in the world? Fluke? I think not. I'm not saying the SPL is a fantastic league, but it is a lot better than naive people like yourself believe. Two teams in the Champions league group stage from a country with a population of circa six million, with one of the teams holding their own in a group full on continental champions. That proves this league is not "awful".
So before you make rediculous comments like you have, try and substantiate them with an element of fact.
Regards,
Digsy

| Yes, you should say more. David May didn't come on with his team 1-0 down, turn the game and set up the two winning goals.

| Nakamura's the best midfielder Celtic have had in my lifetime..... considering premiership stars like Juninho, Graveson, Berkovic & Jarsik (what have they cost clubs) are no where near good to play regularly for Celtic you should take this into consideration before saying what he's worth.
The unrealistic bit is him going to a little club like Reading!

| Laudrup was world class and proved it after Rangers when he went Ajax....
although rubbish at Chelsea, but it took time for him to get used to not playing in a team with 12 men every home game (and i ain't talking about the fans)
