I did a search of past threads on the above subject and found they all dated back to 2003! Therefore i'm asking folk on this forum have they managed any teams in the Northern Ireland leagues in FM07 and what did they achieve/how well did you do/how well are you currently doing? Pre-patch i managed to save Glebe Rangers from relegation from the Second Division after a playoff. Given that the team started with more greyed players than actual proper players, i feel this was a major achievement. Given that i am from N. Ireland, a Crusaders FC supporter and Irish League supporter, this is what fuels my interest in other folks achievements within our wee league.
I did start a save in fm06 with Chimney Corner (Such a silly name how could any Llama resist) I think I only lasted a season and then had a crash or somthing... All a bit vague I'm afraid.
Thanks pal. I did a search but it brought up results from 2003. But i forgot that folk call our wee country Norn Iron as well so that's probably why nothing recent showed up.

Not sure where the Chimney Corner name came from. However, there is a hotel between just outside Glengormley called Chimney Corner. As for the Irish League, managing in this league is a nightmare. But that's the attraction. No money is just part of the problem. Trying to attract players is a huge problem. But also the fact that most teams are as "bad" as each other in terms of quality (or lack of)players. It's a matter of getting the best out of your team as most teams are of a similar ability. I'd like someone within LLM forum to take Glebe Rangers and let me know how the get on. They are managerless to begin with. QUB are also managerless so if anyone wants a challange with them, give it a shot and keep us posted on your success/failures. And to keep within the rules, STRICTLY NO PLAYER NAMING!

I've been researching the Northern Ireland 2nd Division and found this on Chimney Corner:
Quote:
Antrim's sporting heritage is all crammed into one area on the Randalstown Road in Allen Park, which is home to Antrim Rugby club, Antrim Hockey club, Antrim Golf club and Antrim Bowling Club. You can see the common theme in the obvious club names but the fifth sports team in the vicinity is not Antrim Football Club because there isn't an Antrim Football Club.
Instead the Borough is represented by Chimney Corner Football Club, perhaps the only team in the World to take its name from a poem. The poem concerned is 'My lady of the Chimney Corner' written by local poet Alexander Irvine in honour of his mother who lived in the Pogues Entry area of the town.
