Season 06/07 – Västerås IK – Second Division North Svealand
I was handed an eight thousand pound transfer budget and the expectations to fight against relegation at all costs. Transfer season was quiet as I brought in just one player, a 27 year old midfielder, who was also a good striker, at two thousand. We also signed on an extra coach.
Transfer window towards the 3rd quarter of the season sees us let go of two players for a total of one thousand, no signings inwards. We also managed to be secured a definite top three finish after a fifteen game unbeaten record, fourteen of which were wins. With three games left in the season, a 1-0 win confirmed us to be this season’s champions.

Well, it's my first journey into LLMing, so don't kill me for doing something wrong, but I followed all the ethos and guidelines of LLMing. I do find it to be really fulfilling.
I loaded all leagues in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. Frank picked out Vasteras IK to be my team.
The club was in bad debt and we had no transfer funds. Still, we brought in a forward and a defensive midfielder for free deals, both to play first team. However, this put us out of our wage budget and we weren’t given permission to make any more signings. The media predicted a safe seventh place for the club. Was offered Sweden job, but rejected it for realism.
Form was generally pretty consistent, and the team just about secured a play off position on the last day of the season by one point. We won the away leg against our opposition 3-2, only to throw it away at home 1-3.

One thousand pound transfer fees, but we brought in a midfielder for free. Season started quite well and we held first place for a while. A mid-season slump then saw us lose form and drop down into mid-table. Second transfer window saw us bring in two defenders, one young left back and a centre back after some deadline day negotiations.
Bad form towards the end of the season saw us drop to finish in 10th place out of 14.

BluMoon - being from Västerås myself, good fun to read this. But what the ****? Offered the Sweden job? As a manager in a crap team in the crap third division? Something surely not correct there...And not too sure that any team from Västerås ever would play in the south division.

There are several errors with team placing in Swedish Division 2 even in the 2006 season which I find quite amazing. The worst delocation was IIRC Lärje/Angered (a team from Gothenburg) playing in the Division 2 Norra Svealand (the division for teams north of Stockholm).
KUTGW. Blumoon, have you overtaken the local giant, Västerås SK, as the best Västerås team yet?
Maple - pffffft. As we ever would take on a crap manager from a crap tea,m. Oh, hang on... I surely hope that VSK will never ever be considered true LLM.
Team from Gothenburg in the north? That's like placing plymouth in the scottish first.
