I would certainly start a new game. The patches may well be "save game compatable" but for best results should always start again.

If you've only played three friendlies, having to start over is hardly the end of the world.
God help you if your save goes wonky after 20+ seasons like has happened on previous versions with a few llamas, myself included. That's painful/sad.

This is why I'm sticking with the 'out of the box' version. I haven't encountered anything game-breaking yet, and I don't want my first real LLM save ruined by this patching business.

The patch has ended the red card and injuries fiasco, that's enough reason to install it.

TBH, I haven't really had much problem with injuries and red cards so far (three and a half seasons). When I do, I will no doubt regret this post.

The red card and injury fiasco crippled many games, it was acknowledged and fixed by SI, and guys had no problem with it

I deduce, my dear Watson, that either the game is inconsistent or that some players have the tolerance level of a rhino's horn.
