I'm playing with Leigh RMI, now in 3rd season. I have a question about attendence. My game is fully patched and started fresh.
First season was fine, 300-600 that didn't have anything better to do.
But after we moved into a new stadium (precoded in start of the game), attendance skyrocketed to 6000+ in Con North, and then 9900/per game in Conference National ??
Cup games appears to be realistic, 2000-3000, but I hardly find it believable that 10k (100% of capacity) will come to see me in National, even though i we are playing "above all expectations"
My dilemma is following:
- I spent quite time & effort trying to put team together for 2 and some years, and not happy to just quit on all that now.
- All those huge attendances are creating huge income (£150k-£200k per month), so it is starting to feel that we are not in LLM club. I mean, this year they gave me £150k transfer money (didn't spent any so far because I don't feel comfortable with it).
I know that I need to make my own decision about it, but it would be helpful if you can give me your opinion about is game still looks close to realistic to you or not.
Thank you, and I do apologize if this is not LLM related
My opinion is that an LLM save is a full career, so while you may find things easy in the first couple of years, you'll have good and bad times. Remember also that the expectations of the club and supporters might be higher.
Seems to me that Leigh RMI will fall into the "good for cutting your teeth in LLM" bracket if what you say is true, though.
Well, the club is sort of in the right area to potentially attract a large fanbase, but it does seem odd that the glory hunters start at Conference level. Hmm.
Bah, I'd take it. If you've done nothing wrong, make the most of it. Think of it as a present for being good. (Santa is watching). Supporters are fickle folk in FM, so don't be surprised if the numbers start tailing off if you have a bad run.
Attendance seems to be pretty random, certainly in the conference divisions.
I've found a massive swing in attendances, not just game by game, but season by season.
Currently with Welling, on a game by game basis, if our form is ok we get C.500 through the gate. Poorly it plummets to 300 and a sustained run (and it has to be a very good run) about 900.
My last three season the average attendance has dropped from over 1k (good cup runs seemed to have helped here) to just over the 600 mark. The rest of the time there seems to be anything in between.
I think attendance figures are form related, hit a bad patch and watch it fall; also that "high" seasons, unless followed by promotion, will precede a dramatic dip in attendance figures.
It's still very random and bloody frustrating (you start budgeting one season when you think you've got a regular gate of 900 when in fact it turns out to be more like 500) so its best to just wait and see.

You do
Not me, I'm the manager, not the bleating accountant.
in my game, Leigh averaged 6112 and 5598 in 2008/2009 and 2009/2010, both in Conference North ... they were promoted to Conference National for 2010/2011 and they're averaging 7527 late in the season, sitting in 20th place
I'm also Leigh in my game but the stadium i moved into only had a capacity of 750, is yours different? i get crouds of 700 - 730 at good times and i'm now happily mid table conference national in my third season

That is, avg that i was getting in Con North, after stadium move (mine wes 3673).And presently i have 8193 avg in National.
I did find out (by searching forums) that there was a bug in unpatched version, that placed new Leigh stadium to Albany, NY , USA
Suposedly was fixed in one of the patches , but i am not sure is that connected to this attendance thing.Still having 7000-9900 attendance in National is weird , considering that next highest attendance is 3500(Oxford).
I guess i will have to wait and see if it's going to be like that next season.
Thank you all for taking time and responding
