2006
Started the game with all European top leagues + all lower leagues from non-puny European countries (65-ish). Large Db.
Began the game unemployed with automatic reputation.
At the start of the game, there are dozens of clubs looking for a manager. Applied for the job at Asmundstorp IF in the Swedish 2nd Division South Gotaland.
To my surprise

they want to go ahead with me, expecting me to battle bravely against relegation. For €400 per week, I'll give it a go.
I'm up against it: the team have 20-ish players, 4 of whom are
not younger than 18. Of the remaining 4, one doubles as the Assistant Manager, he's 40
years old
First, 7k in hand, I go on a shopping spree to be able to fill a team with people who are not on a youth contract. My one scout fortunately finds a lot of players, so at least there are players to sign. As beggars can't be choosers, I just go for filling each position as well as I can, even signing a DL of
37 years old (I hope he'll take up coaching after retiring...) I just need people, as the season is only 22 games long and I need results as of day 1.
Survival is all that counts.
I sign a fair few players, on a free if possible, or else giving in to extortionate 50% sell-on clauses and the likes. I hate doing that, because I'm a
stingy git

Then again, because I am in such dire need of players, I let even
them extort me as well and blow my wage budget in no time flat,
causing my board to forbid any more transfers in, during this season. Oops
We lose the first few friendlies, having to play with a bunch of youngsters. Once older players start trickling in we start getting results. By the deadline
of the player trading madness, we have signed no less than 10 players. An 11th, a very promising looking youngster, joins us halfway into the season.
After a few severe losses at the start of the season, my guys get it together, even going on a 3-game winning/5-game non-losing streak
We're so extremely lucky as not to have an injury crisis, that helps of course, with such a thin selection.
The promising youngster (16 years of age) scores three goals by dribbling past four defenders from the halfway line, looks like I found a gem there
