A bit off-topic but since TtD seems to have a vast knowledge of Belarusian football as proven above, Smena Minsk was the B team of Dinamo Minsk in FM 06, does anyone know why they were transformed into FC Minsk?

Also fun to read about someone's adventures in an unfancied league like the Belarusian.

Smena still exists in the game as a non-league club, so assuming all the players were bought from them by FC Minsk when they formed.

A new season, and my first move. Injury hit, and losing motivation in Belarus, I felt a change was needed.

FC Minsk/Kildare County

Half a season each, and a first cup

Highest League: 5th (atl)
Belarusian Cup: Champions 2-1 vs Belshina
UEFA Cup: 1st round 1-1 vs Fehervar (Hungary) (1985 finalists so not all bad)

Time for a change

Irish First Division: 7th 46pts after 36 (took over 10th 28pts after 25)

So, new club, trashy facilities, crappy squad, but an 8-0 win away last game of season gets us up 3 places to 7th, and the winter break gives the opportunity to remove the hopeless staff and players and get in a higher quality of everything, even if I have to do it on the cheap (and I mean cheap )

So, no money to spend, 1k of spare wage budget to work with, so time for the freebies . Cue 6 eastern europeans from my old scouting, and a bunch of young irish spares come flying into the club for next to nothing (and by next to, I mean humping the leg of...).

An influx of backroom staff also runs apace as the cripples currently stealing the biscuits in the backroom get left out to pasture, and the young guns are brought in.

Cue a change in fortunes...

Kildare County 12

Irish First Division: 1st p36 w26 d6 l4 pts 84 (Quite a turn around eh!)

League Cup: 1st round 3-1 away vs Shelbourne (meh!)

Irish Senior Challenge Cup: Semi-final 1-0(replay-away) vs Bohemians (we knocked out holders Cork in the Quarters so not all bad)

So, up and into the top division, but still 280k in debt. Wage budget is maxed out so a lot of trash will be released before I can bring in anymore players. One DC lost when Glentoran offered 60k for him (valued at 1k so director game me no choice), but squad looks solid in general. Will be looking at maybe 1 or 2 signings and then debt reduction in the new year.

Been a while, but the work has at last eased off, so another season under my belt.

Kildare County 13

Irish Premier Division: 9th, p33, w12 d8 l13 pts 44

League Cup:2nd round vs Waterford United (0-1)

Irish Senior Challenge Cup: 3rd round vs Bohemians (again) 1-2 (after replay...again)

Struggling to survive as always when your club is only valued at half the value of the 2nd smallest club in the country, let alone the league. My leading Polish striker is now valued at almost half the total value of my club, and is on the verge of making his international debut, making the Polish world cup squad, but not starting a match so far.

Next season aims: lower the debt further (now at -285k)
Beat Bohemians for the first time in 8 attempts (d6 l2 so far)
Attempt to fill my first team squad with more polish slave labour than irish moneygrabbers, thus helping the people of my managers home nation to build a thriving community here in the Irish backwaters .
