Going Pro (2007)
Could anyone help on this matter.
As Havant and W I went pro as soon as I reached the Conference but I'm here for 2 years as Weston SM and I still haven't gone pro,
is there normally a time limit or when do clubs normally go pro?
thanks

Back to the original poster, surely Neil Warnock would know the requirements and needs for a club to turn professional.

To be helpful.. i have read on these forums that your team goes pro automatically when you reach league one. Other than that, i have read that the board can decide on going pro if there is a compelling argument towards that direction.
In my case, i play as St Albans and i have all my first team as full time professionals already but am finding it too expensive to do my (extensive) reserve team. I am fairly certain, if i can get promotion to league two and get my reserves as full time professionals, the board might decide to pursue the professional route but i have yet to see... If i ever do it (currently mid-table in my first season trying to avoid relegation) I will let you know...

I didn't turn pro with WSM until promotion to League 1 - even after three seasons in Conference National with most of my players on FT contracts.
No idea what the parameters are for becoming pro though
