The training benefits for full time players are really important and i wouldnt have gained promotion unless i had put my first team as full time...
Also, when you get promoted, the board will more than likely make you a professional club which helps you stay in the league above. I started as St Albans and i am about to win League one by 20 clear points which will be my third league win in a row. I have also been quarter finalists in the Fa cup this year but i took three years to get out of the conference so i know how it is down there!
i dont think it makes a difference as to where your club turns pro..
all my players on full time contracts, 2nd season in conference national and still havnt gone pro but i know for sure every team goes pro after they get into L2.
Ive started a few games as HInkley in CN, but wages seem to restrict FT contracts. I would idealy like my younger players on them as to help them develop bettter?

Provided their weekly wage is enough for them to live on, I'd say yes.
Xurely we're playing in the world according to SI and the internal economy of the game dictates what is a reasonable amount to live on. I'm not enjoying handicapping myself this way tbh when clubs in higher leagues than me are paying full-time youths £85/wk & reserves maybe £120/wk. Given that we've just gone F/T, players are now refusing P/T contracts but are prepared to feasible F/T wages - the club's finances don't allow me to maintain a viable 1st team on upwards of £650/wk and a squad of F/T reserves on IRL 'realistic' wages. I do it 'cos its the LLaMa way but it's the one thing I disagree with.
There's a distinct line between "realistic" and "as realistic as the game allows".
The game doesn't allow for a basic concept like inflation, therefore if a player is offered £85 a week full time, beit now or in 2026, then that has to be looked upon as the latter..."as the game allows".
Where wage offers become unacceptable is when the "manager" offers frequent wage changes with lower wages...i.e. several times a season.
