I love the challenge of taking a club from obscurity and improving the stature of the club.
The club i chose is SHREWSBURY TOWN FC, as they are the local league team from my hometown.
The challenge was tough, no money, the wage budget was small.... But i did get to the playoffs in the first season but lost on a 30 yard screamer in the final minute. Not bad i thought....
Improved the team and foound a tactic that suited the team and won League 2 on the last day of the season.
BUT here is where the fun starts, as Euro 2008 concludes with france beating denmark 7 - 0, managers of the nations team gets sacked for either a poor showing or contract runs out. Here i though why not lets try and apply for the England job.
AND YES I AM THE NEW ENGLAND MANAGER......
Played my first match, which was for world qualifier against Belgium. Winning 3-0 away.
Has anyone else had a simliar experience????

Yeah i have... at the end of season 2 with Aston Villa having finished 5th and 3rd i was given the England Managers job. Im not complaining but it does seem really easy to get the job. If i remember correctly FM06 was much harder.

Having just seen the Blyth SPartans manager, of conference regionals, become the england managaer, I believe after I patched the game, i'm not sure it is fixed.

Shrewsbury, tough. Try Barnet, you need virtually a new squad, which I do in form of loan players. Oh, and we'll both get shouted at now for daring to choose clubs we like rather than the most hard one possible.

I would never shout at you for picking your favourite team. I will point out however that Barnet are in Division 2 and are therefore not an LLM team. In your previous 5 post you posted in the T&T forum, The GP&TG forum and the Editors forum. So I really have only one question for you. Why did you post in this forum?
