Close, we refer to them as Assistant Referees or AR's. Then there's also the 4th official.

How about calling the side referees line judges, or making them wear orange vests?

Hang on ... here's a radical idea ... let's call them linesmen and give them coloured flags that they can wave to attract the referee's attention

By the way Jason, can you be consistent next time please - either go with the Americanisms and call the 'keeper the goalminder, or get the references to the officials right, there's a good chap

I would like to point out I've never ever heard the term CR or Center Referee. Nor goalminder...or is that the UK term?

The American term your looking for is goalie, or maybe goaltender. Never heard goalminder.

I would love to be able to slag off the officials in the after match interview. It's not the controversial offside disallowal (is that a word ) that gets me, it's the straight red for a 'push' followed by the opposition player's warning for a 2 footed lunge and the like.

Oh dear, I appear to have confused netball with icehockey ...

I can't say that I understand either game but I sure as hell know which one I'd rather watch
