Default Questions before starting LLM

I have just done as i always do when the new FM game gets out. Im always staring with a bigger club in EPL or the Championship to learn how the new games work and all the new features. Well now i have played for so long at that level so i thought to play the game different to get a new challange, so i decided to start with LLM.

I have played before with teams from the lower leagues but didnt follow the "rules" or what you should call it that you have. But now im going to try this style of play out since i belive its much realistic to not use the player search screen and only sign players that your scout have had a look at.

But there is one question i have, what is your view of using the "transfer listed" and "listed for loan" filter in the player search screen? In reality i belive that managers have a list (or knowledge) of the players that is put up on the transfer list either by themself or the club. Do you use this list and then send your scout to check if the player is something for the club and then perhaps move in for a loan or a transfer?

Well this was my question before staring my LLM game.

It's not necessary (nor realistic) to use such a filter. The scouting system is so good now that even my crappy scout is able to dig up several hundred possible signings. There doesn't exist lists with transfer listed players in the real world. Sure, there is sometimes info about this or that player being transfer listed in the higher leagues. But in the lower leagues that is not realistic at all. So we don't use lists like that.

Just use your scouts, and they will find crap that wants to play for you. And pay Frank a visit to pick a club for you at the lowest level

Some LLaMas use transfer lists and most don't. After all, it's your game. Nevertheless, even if you use that list, you should scout the players in question. Just do, what you feel is most realistic.

Chances are that if you use the player search screen you'll probably end up with worse players than your scouts find.

This has been argued all the time, and the response is always this:

Even with a list of transfer listed players, there are only the player's names on these lists. They don't have any attributes saying how good the player is in real life, which is why we don't use it.

You'd be better letting your scouts find loads of players, then in your scout reports screen, use that filter to search for transfer listed palyers your scout has found, or to look for free agents, etc etc.

Thanks for the response. Well i have another question regarding this also. How do you look on being a feeder club to another team? Is it ok to scout a player in the parent club and then make a loan offer for him? Or do you only scout and perhaps loan a player that the parent club offer to you?

If you're looking for a parent club, then that's okay if you're outside the UK.

In the UK, the FA actively discourages the practice

I actually don't like feeder club's no matter what. It makes things very easy, as observed from my current game. One of the teams in my division was feeder club to Newcastle, with the result that they walked the league. Get a parent club like that, and you will walk the league. For the same reason I try to restrict loans to only extreme emergencies.
