I have now played for a while in my LLM game. Must say that the scouting and job center works out vey well in this version of the game. The scouts ia actually able to find loads of players that would improve my team. Well i have another question also, what is the view of recommend player function? Is it ok to ask a player in the squad for a recommendation and then send the scout to check the player out? IMO i think this is kinda realistic perhaps even more realistic in smaller clubs that dont have a big scouting network. I belive that the manager in that case would take advantage of the knowledge of the players in the squad to find new potential signings.

Haven't really done it myself, but as long as you don't ask every player every month, it's got to be ok.

I've actually tried it a 3-4 times. All but once they had no idea. The tip I did get, turned out to be lousy according to my scout.
I reckon it's quite realistic, especially when you ask for tips from a guy's former club.
Better to trust the scouts though. And as you find literally thousands of players now (at least with large DB), there should be no problem to find decent players. Getting them is a completely different task |

Also a short question from me:
Sometimes a news item appears that a team in the same league is interested in signing a free player. Although this player is not scouted by me, can i invite that player for a trail?

Get a report card from your scout at least. It only takes one day to get it. Then offer him a trial if he looks ok.

why not? A news item - i.e. a piece of news in a local newspaper, mentions a player, so of course you can send a scout for him.
Just imagine though, if you think it is unrealistic. What is the reason for sending a scout then? Do you read a name and know "ah, I like that name, let's send a scout"? Or why this player and not a million different ones?
So, I would do it under certain circumstances. Is it a rival you want to annoy by snapping up a talent before they can do it? Is it a team you're going to play against in the upcoming weeks and you don't want them to gain an advantage, if the player is any good?
Just think about it a bit.

I do it in my save because I appear to be the only Welsh team able to scout Wales only. If an English or Scottish player is mentioned in a news item because another club is interested in them then, provided they play in a position I am looking to reinforce, they are invited for a trial.
I'd would absolutely rather not have to do this, but when newly promoted teams are signing players from all over GB, the two professional clubs are loaning (and sometimes signing) EPL players, and I'm in Europe every season but only allowed to scout Wales I feel I have no choice.

Surely it would make sense to sign a scout who could scout England then... |

I've had an English scout for the last two seasons. The board will still only pay for "trips within this nation".
