I have just finished my 1st season in the conference south with Histon, finishing 10th. But now im in to pre-season and have just found out im now playing in the conference north, why is this? surely i was in the south because i am a southern team??? does this happen in real life?

Yes it does, depending on the geographical locations of the teams promoted and relegated to Conference Regional level each season.

i think it all depends on the geography of the relegated teams from the conference. if 2 teams who were relegated were from further south than you, then you would be moved to the conference north.
