Just a quick question, what/who governs the values of your players? It can't be attributes as I have players in my squad with far superior attributes in every departement but are worth far less than players with a higher value ut poorer stats? I've even played a player for an entire season to see if that raised his value but still nothing yet someone who didn't play value rose loads? So do I pick my squad on value or stats?

Do the hidden stats determine value as then I would pick a squad on value but if I use stats then the value doesn't rise? This doesn't make any sense to me as surely players with the best stats MUST have the highest value??

Value is determined by a number of factors, including the players age, club the player is at and his reputation within football as well as his ability.

Thus a young kid with a potentially bright future might easily be more valued than a quality aging defender who's near retirement ..

I agree but in the case I mentioned both players were the same age, same position and had both been at my club for the same amount of tiime?

But attributes come into it, so if a two players, both LB, and was at your club for 2 years, if one was better then obviously he would be better vaulued wereas if they were identical, surely games played would be a factor!

Games played is a factor (as reputation encapsulates this partially - his performance during games will help determine his reputation) and current form and how frequently he's been playing (as you can tell the equation used is fairly complex and I still haven't listed everything involved, for instance regular international players will generally be in higher demand and thus priced than non-international players, although this is partially dependant on the size of the country involved).
