This is a general question to see if others have experienced the same or I am just being paranoid.

At my 32nd game in my 44-game season I've just beaten the team standing in 2nd to go 8-points clear at the top of the table (W23 D3 L3). Promotion beckons, only the champions are automatically promoted and I am looking good for that. I've not been replaying lost matches as that smacks of cheating for me.

Next 8-games go W2 D3 L3 and my players have over night turned to poo, can't pass/shoot/save/tackle/take set pieces. I am now second 2-points behind the leaders with only 4 matches to play.

I'm tempted to give up as it feels the game has decided I'm not going to win and has thus downgraded my players abilities.

I don't expect to win every game or promotion every season, I can accept bad form and like a challange, but after putting together a team that plays so well for 3/4 of a season for them to lose the ability to play overnight is galling.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

All teams can go on a bad form from time to time.

But maybe your opposition has figured your tactics out and adapted?

What team talks did you use? Happened to me in FM 07 (still haven't played FM 08) and I solved it by telling my players to relax or that "result will come".

Tried that against the bottom team in the league ... we struggled to a draw which was pretty good given the recent form

At least I know why the "Why can't you always play like this!" option is there in team talks
