What effects does winning awards, particularly player of the year etc, have on the actual player? And does NOT winning an award have an effect on players too? I think that's more important than the actual formulas that tell you how awards are given.

I would think, the player who wins will have a boost in reputation.
And a boost in reputation often means an increase in market value.
