If you have a history in football, lets say played for your national team, the fans will be delighted you signed for them. If you're an obscure unkown, you will have to turn them around with results!

The higher profile you start with, the "easier" it becomes. I say "easier" because obviously it's all about what you do in the game, but certainly setting yourself as an ex-international players is gonna help. Your reputation will automatically be very high - possibly continental.
Personally I would never ever choose anything other than the lowest setting - automatic. But you may do as you please
