Default FM2006 - A very very very long shot

I don't want to launch into a masive rant about how poor i believe the latest version of FM is..So no mention of the

Ridiculous Shots to goal ratio
Incredible keepers
3 foot strikers rising majestically above 6ft defenders to power in headers
Defenders just stopping for a rest when opp through on goal
Def midfielders stopping for a sleep and having the ball taken off them...

Whoops sorry..

Anyway, i think i'm ready to give up. This is a massively long shot but does anyone know if there is an updated database with all the latest players etc from 2008, available for FM2006?

I missed out on 2007, but 06 was great, all seemed to make sense to me...Long shot i know, but still...

Probably not available, but I'm sure you can ahve fun with the 06 database. 06 is a great game indeed. I won things on that game, I remember my first season with Chelsea winning everything

2007 with patch 7.0.2 is a good game as well though. You can probably get it very cheap in the store.

06 was quality...Had good tactics that i just can't seem to replicate in 08.

All i really want is a decent set of tactics that work, and that with the right transfers will bring me great success.

Not criticising anyone who enjoys the in-depth detail, thats just how i want to play the game

Pim..

Do you know if the latest FM07 patch has Leeds in League 1 ?

I'm probably going to buy 07 and wait for 08 to be improved..Just wanted to know how up to date it was...

It is harder than 06 though and you maybe need more tactical approaches than you are used to. For example a defending counter formation for away games and another more attacking for home games. In fm 06 I could keep one tactic and win a lot with good players, in 07 the story is a bit different. It is more tactic based. But 08 continues that tradition it seems.
