I've asked about this for, but it never drew much of a response. Here's hoping second time is a charm.
Basically, I want to write a 'diary' (for another site) about an Australian 2018 World Cup. At first I thought that the World Cup hosting was random, which made Australia getting selected nigh on possible - but having talked to a few people it sounds as if it's hard wired to go as South Africa, Spain, Uruguay, and then Brazil.
So, my question is - is there any way to tinker with this order so Australia will host a World Cup?
i wouldnt mind knowing myself but im guessing it will be hardcodeded the contientent rotation like in real life and probably something to do with repuation of country aswell but im just guessing
It's almost definitely coded. As it is, the schedule goes:
2010 - South Africa
2014 - Spain
2018 - Uruguay
2022 - Italy
2026 - Brazil
Someone pointed out that it fairly closely follows the World Cup draw from the beginning of the tournament - so perhaps modifying one of those would work? The only problem is that I'd need to play through to 2014 to find out
Have run on holidday mode and after 2030 pretty much has a three year cycle with three nations in each section. Same goes for confederations and olympics except is two years. African natiosn, oce nations and asian cup are cyclical between several nations and stay in order. Can post what i think the cycle is for each if interested.
