The thing I cannot understand at all is this:

It is often said that in this game you cannot stick to one tactic and expect to win everything. It is often said that the days of the plug-and-play tactics have passed away.

In many threads, people who seem to have a great understanting of the game (Cleon included) stated that players who fail to get consistency lack of game comprehension, and don´t attend to many aspects of the game, such as media, training, player interaction, weather, etc, etc.

The fact that Cleon created a tactic, and claimed that he hasn´t made tweaks, and took West Ham into an amazing first place without too much effort, in fact contradicts tons of posts made on these forums. I mean:why those many variables doesn´t seem to affect Cleon´s game? He built a tactic, he selected his players and simply played the game. If this game was that easy then why would be so many people struggling and trying to figure out how the game work?
While that is true in many ways, its also been stated that if you find a strong tactics then you don't need to tweak much at all. I think my Sheff Utd Project proved this and showed people you don't need to tweak constantly.

However I couldn't have used this West Ham one without tweaking it all season as it simply was not strong enough. But for the moment it was fine. But remember I still hadn't played that many games in total and a few of them I was lucky to even get a result. The variables would have effected me sooner or later. Once I suffered a loss in the league, I suspect id need to change a lot or the AI will just keep beating me.

When your lucks in its in. I've no doubt that my luck was down to the start I made at the beginning its carried me through and got mys triker scoring goals. If Ashton doesn't score I don't win simple as. Due to the way I set up and made the tactic around him.

The people who have most success on this game don't even visit this forum (tactics part I mean). Because if you visit this forum and see something thats working for another user, you are inclined to try that yourself in your game. And then you see someone else trying something else and again you follow same pattern. And before you know it everything you are doing is other peoples ideas and not your own. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Unfortunately, Cleon, your Sheffield United post proves nothing. Just like Marseille recently said, we will never know whether you restarted each game to ensure victory. As shallow as an accusation this is, in the name of testing and science, we can not simply take your word for it. You claim that you can take any team to glory. If this is the case, then there needs to be around 5-10 testers playing the same saved game, and they need to follow your tactical instructions identically in order to test your validity and consistency of the game. You've said on many an occasion that screenshots don't prove a thing. This applies to you too.

If Cleon cheats then take it to a forum 'court' or something. Just seeing this thread hinders my mood to seek some solid tactical discussion and posible solution.
I agree. But if people can no longer trust that certain folks have valid truths regarding tactics then all you will be receiving is useless hot air theory. This thread has been split right down the middle. On one side you have the doubters/realists/strugglers, and on the other you have the fan boys/successful players/positivists. The fact that this thread has took on this direction should be a message to us all that something is wrong with the game regardless of your thoughts or successes.

I think it's a great idea to test Cleon's validity through a few testers. I think we can learn a lot if he is right. If this is the case, then we can all become better players at the game...

Cleon:

I´ve noted that you tick all individual instructions, passing and mentality included, even for players that play equal to team instructions. My question is: what do you do when you tweak team instructions such as passing or mentality? Do you tweak the individual instructions too? Or just team? Because I´cannot understand how a team tweak would affect a tactic if all players are set up individually.

arteta is god, just to clarify my position:

I am not claiming Cleon of cheating, or anyone else for that matter. I am simply offering some methods where people can reproduce results in a controlled environment, so that hopefully we can see something better.

Okupa, Cleon claimed he tweaks nothing. Nada. At least, for this project anyway.

yet another vote for thread delteion from me.

Hammer and Arteta appear to just be on the forums to annoy other people....reminds me why I stopped accepting people to msn asking for help.

FuSS, I would like to ask you for explanation in Arteta is God's "recent" posts which are annoying people. His most recent arguments are sound and logical.

Why are you being so paranoid? I never claimed that you thought he was cheating. I was merely re-emphasizing what you stated:

The fundamental problem with what you guys are doing is that there is no way to tell if any one of the players has "reloaded" the game.

I am in agreement with you, which is why I think there should be a thread set up in which a few of us all play the same game. At the very least we should be able to see just how consistent/inconsistent the game is.

I'm just being careful because it's not uncommon for people to twist meanings of what I say. I'm glad you took it right on though.

Thank you, Marseille. I'm not hear to spread a seed of poison. I think this is a wonderful opportunity to test the consistency of the game. I would really look forward to the results if it took off.
