Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Well there is a little while before the next game but changes to be made:

1. Tempo and passing to be similar, a mistake I made in the Swiss game. Will be a more direct game from the back, mixed in midfield and short up front.

2. Giving BOTH AMC's a free role to see if that adds any attacking impetus. (Ronaldinho and Kaka - so both ideal for that responsibility).

3. Giving the fullbacks mixed for where they pass from instead of byline. It may need to be changed again to deep but we'll wait and see.

personally i think a combination of a huge pool of world class attacking midfielders and a suprising lack of world class out and out strikers means that the best formation for a brazilian national team would be a 4-2-3-1

dida,alves.lucio,juan,carlos.

emerson,gilberto

robinho kaka ronaldinho

ronaldo

Why would you play Ronaldo over Adriano?

Brazil have lots of FC's who are just as good as any striker. Plus they have lots of youth who are able to score at the top level too.

Sobis and Adriano would be my first choice though from the start of the game and Oliveriea and Fred as back up. And in a few years time Pato should be pushing for a place along with players like Lima, Kerlon etc.

Dayle you got any further yet? Or you not playing atm?

Ohh and do you have stats from the first game for the players please?

I wouldn't put Robinho playing in a right-centre midfield position. He either plays up front or in the position that Ronaldinho would take. Those are his two natural positions.

But the lone striker is a possible idea. Am going to keep poking at the 4-2-2-2 for a little while long and if it seems to be lacking then I will convert to your formation idea.

gotta keep an element of real life attachments in the game for me to enjoy it

The W-M would be good to try with Brazil. You definetly have the attacking options for it. Hmm I'm half tempted myself now

u can mix and match the 3 attacking midfielders, but the 3 would me ronaldinho, kaka and robinho for me.

against all but the best sides in major finals all 3 would have creative freedom and a free role.

gilberto and emerson more than protect ur defence, let the boys play!!!

Cleon - I am playing a club side as well so Brazil are on hiatus for about a month until the Copa America.

I have made the changes to the side (mentioned above) that you suggested but have to wait for awhile till the next lot of matches.

If you want I can give you a detailed description of the tactic as it stands if you'd like. Then you can nit-pick it.

I expect once I have adapted it to a satisfactory level I will then have to make the same formation but a counter attacking style as well, and perhaps a defensive variation.
But at the moment just concentrating on the attacking style.

Dayle - Have you thought about playing the same game over and over to see what works differently 2nd time around? I only mention this because the games are so far and between in international management. You don't get much chance to experiement

Sorry I didn't realise you had a club side too. What team did you go for Corinthians? Thats the one Brazilain club side I have ever used

A detailed description would be excellent if you had the time. Its only so I got a better understanding of what I am actually talking about and trying to offer advice on
