Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Mushroom1711 is infamous around these parts
Default A Couple Of Questions

I've only been on these boards for 2 days. But i've learnt more from him in those two days than i have from any other tactics thread in many other forums and reading numerous tips.

He has worked out this game and to make things better, hes simplified it for us who are too dumb to understand anything complex.

His tips and advice has closed up my defence. I concede far less. Although i don't achieve the results he does, i wouldnt expect too. This is only my second day of playing the game "Properly".

I've got two questions for the great man though.

Cleon - If a team is playing a defensive 4 4 2 with Mixed passing. And you are a weaker team away from home.

Do you stick to your counter attack with direct passing and quick tempo?

Or

Do you do the opposite, I.E Attacking.

I know you normally say do the opposite but considering i'm only using your ideas in a pre saved game where i was doing crap and my team arnt playing well.

Also Regarding individual mentalities

We have to have these close-ish together so the team can find a pass.

However i play that way with a targetman (Eddie Johnston) and im finding when i counter he is standing just about halfway and is rarely in the box for attacks. Am i doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Hammers, Arteta is god and

millie wasnt calling him a cheat but was sceptical of the success he was having, while others with the same tactic were failing!

This can always be tricky, especially if you are weaker team and are expecting to loose. Id stick with this for the first 20 minutes of a game though and see how it went. If its not quite working then try something else as its still early in the game.

Have you asked him to hold the ball up? You could try upping his mentality slightly if you find he's not where you want him to be.

Got a link to this claim? The only thing they have said is they have doubts on Cleon's claims.

Lets not ruin another topic, only post if you are answering the question in the opening post please, or have any other advice to offer.

Mushroom1711 is making some serious claims here that need to be verified. He has started a thread totally backing you up and slamming everyone else, if anything this thread should be closed and his comment should go into say the Hammer, Cleon West Ham thread.

Like I said drop it, its becoming tiresome now. Just let this thread be and let the original poster get his questiosn answered. End of, if it carries on warnings will be issued.

Wow I better stop now before you go on your power trip. Mushroom starts a rather questionable thread, Dayle Wood ask Mushroom a question, I ask him to provide proof, yet I am the one that is going to get in trouble, how does that work????

All you have got to do is search the recent threads of the forum to see what hes on about. Nothing he said as been wrong.

And to answer the other question, I was telling everyone not only you. But I have asked you politely to stop this discussion now 2 times and you keep ignoring me. I'm asking one final time just let it be or this thread will become another argument something which the forum doesn't need. Now can we get back to what the forum is for and actually start talking tactics again. Its not a power trip I am trying to avoid conflict.
