Just finished my first season with Aston Villa finishing 13th...but there's a problem.
We lost only twice at home all season but won only twice away accumulating ONLY 10 points on the road all season.
I play 4-4-2 at home....with a deep defensive line with all defenders on zonal marking...with one of my CMF's having a defensive mentality and not doing forwards runs rarely. My other cmf is set to mixed for everything.
My wingers i get to do forward runs often...apart from away games where i limit this to mixed and i get them to cross from mixed positions to the centre. Full backs i get to cross from deep and have short passing.
One of my CF's i give a free role to the other i dont.......am i doing something fundementally wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

So good at home so poor away...anyone help? Post #2
Have you tried playing with just one up top away from home? I find this works pretty well. See my tactic in the West ham challenge thread for an idea of what I am getting at.
Maybe you could upload your away tactic so we can have a look at it?
