Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Well said that man, couldn't have put it better myself, plus the effect of not closing down also conserves energy for those lung bursting runs towards goal, rather than getting tired chasing after defenders shadows. - You want him to be a goal poacher, then let the rest of the team create chances for him and close down the opposition!

End of October and Trezeguet leads the clubs charts with 14 goals. Obviously pleased with that but discovered another flaw in his game. He is set as target man with supply to head but his main priority seems to be flicking the ball on for my other striker. Id prefer him to concentrate more on using his ability for himself. Basically I want him to be more sellfish, getting form 1.5 goals a game to 2 or 2.5 goals a game!

Being more selfish might not be a good thing though and it could take something away from his overall game or from the team for that matter. But if you want him to be more greedy instruct him not to hold up the ball and start running with it instead. It might also not improve his goal ratio either, it could drop especially if he was relying on other people to provide him the ball.

In that case, I will try letting him run with ball and if things dont work out, ill setlle with him helping out other players. Ain't playing FM for a few hours atleast now though so I will post here later.

Thats the key, just change things gradually and if it doesn't work you can always change it back without too much problems.
