I thought the DMC's only run back on my formation when they lose the ball.
They will do but it’s all about putting them is a sensible position to benefit the team – your at home think on so the impetus is on you. I’d push one further forward and just alter his mentality to be a bit more defensive; your single DMC should be good enough to break down attacks. Think of him as a pain in the ass for the opponent’s similar to Makelle for Chelsea.

I had my wingers run up forward to put more pressure on their fullback ( I thought )
Are you hoping you will pressure them into mistakes? Good theory but are you having much look with this as the farrows are attacking play? Again, you are at home and you should be dictating the play, you seem to be worrying about their formation instead of giving them something to worry about!

My away formation seemed to do well untill they keep pumping long balls over my defenders even though they all have pace at least 13 i think so I thought it wouldnt be a problem.
Your away formation looks solid, you need to tick counter attack though and drop the def line if playing against fast strikers.

I tried playing with free rolls but then they keep making stupid mistakes.
What are the stats of your free role player(s)?
Make sure you set up a training program specifically for him, concentrate on improving the appropriate stats, first touch, technique etc..

What do you mean by making my game available? The entire save game or the tactics?
If you go to my documents/si games/games... There should be your saved game, it will be a large file but you can get it uploaded somewhere and provide a link here.

Thanks man! I'll look into it tonight!

My away tactic does look good but I got two great strikers I want to use so Im going with a Diamond 442 formation... well.. diamond as in ... indiv.instructions. one MC offensive and one defensive. Hopefully it'll improve my luck.

My main problem are my fullback. Sometimes I dont even wanna play them anymore. They dont cut out any pass and never block and cross. What could be the problem there?

Without seeing their stats and individual instructions it's hard to say. If you have them running forward at every opportunity then this could the problem.

Their main job is to defend, so conentrate on that. Defensive mentalities, zonal marking, closing down only against wingers with low bravery and or composure I find works well. Close down rarly against good wingers such as Ronaldo, If they have good marking stats 15+ then they could do a good man marking job on the wingers, that could be a good option?

Also, make sure you improve their heading stats in training, I find full backs with good heading stats are awesome in FM.

Failing that - buy Corluka

Corluka ! Aight! He's good... let me just sell the stadium so I get some transfer funds

So It might be smart to get a DLC and a DRC instead of D/ML and a D/MR ??

Well i noticed my fullback on the left is only good a coming up and crossing ... so I'm going to replace him with one of my youngsters (Kim Jaggy) who more defensive.

Finally got the whole tactical thing working ... I get the sack ...

oh well... gotta start over now seein im gettin' into the tactics now

played 442 with narrow at home and deep def.line put one MC bit offensive and as playmaker as his passing and creativity was great. also put him one 6 notches up Creative freedom. the other midfielder was defending and clearing the midfield of through passes. Great tactic now ... but it was too late ...

Any advise though as I get hit by set pieces a lot and also the computer keeps changing tactics when i take the lead and its hard to defend a lead.

Regarding the set pieces there are a number of things you could do:-

Increase training for set pieces
Get a 5star set piece coach
Make sure your best header is marking their best header

And at the other end, I always have my best header going for near post flick-on’s and instruct my corners to be aimed at the near post, have your other best header challenging GK.

I usually score about 1 in 5 corners

Of course even when you set up your corners that way the players don't always follow your instructions.

My centre defender has instructions to attack near post but in not ONE corner can he be seen to be doing this.

I have watched it in slow motion and he stays near the penalty area, not only that but the corner taker resolutely refuses to send the ball to the near post either even though he has been instructed to.

Explain that.

Well I can only speak for myself. Who is your corner taker? Do you have a good set peice training schedule for your corner taker?

The man I have going for near post flick ons I have a specific training schedule for him.

If you don't work at it on the training ground it's not gonna happen in the game

Also, who is your set piece coach?
