Is it bad programming from SI or just weak positioning from my backs?
Even tho my right back has 16 positioning, 15 decitions, 16 anticipation, 15 teamwork, 16 marking..this is the only way they can create good changes vs my tactic(plus corner and frekicks).
Here is a picture that show what i meen;

Long crosses from deep - how to counter this? Post #2
I think this is one of the obvious flaws in the match engine. The way to stop it is usually heavy closing down with wingers/AMs/strikers and easy tackling in my experience.
However I really do think that full backs often put themselves in the stupidest of positions on this game.

Long crosses from deep - how to counter this? Post #3
I dont want barrows on my backs..since there job is to move forward when we have the ball(I have farrows on both).
And man marking is not an option since im using playing with offside.
It shouldnt be necessary to specific tight man mark just to prevent this sitiuation.
Maybe its just a mistake from my right back..Think I edit my back stats to 20 in positioning, decitions, anticipation, teamwork and marking for my next game vs roma away to see if this really is bad programming or a player mistake.

Long crosses from deep - how to counter this? Post #7
watching the screenshot all the defenders did what they should. Every coach would say so. When the ball is on one flank the defenders must stay in a L shape.
The problem here is in great crossing of Napoli right back or Milans right back misjudging the situation-when a pass is 50 metres long he should run 5 metres back and take the ball.

Your right back (#20 in the screenshot) is out of position. I'm not sure how the game unfolded up to that point but look where he is now. He got pulled up on the flank, and yet he is not marking or pressuring anyone.
I would adjust his closing down bar. Perhaps he keeps straying off like that pulling the whole defensive line to the right. Also barrows on both your outside backs will help prevent this as they will not stray forward, and allow such runs in behind them.

I have the exact same problem... long balls... mark marking doesnt work for me and they get dragged out of position cause the strikers then run wide to pick up.
