im leeds and i play in the championship i play a 4-4-2 home and away.i play with i higher defensive level away than home and have 1 sweeper a centre back and right and left back.with a holding midfeilder 2 pacy wingers right and left feild and a attacking midfielder.falling back to central.2 pacy strikers with no playmaker or target man.i play counter atack away from home with the same formation but instead of a attackin mid he is just central.my defence is slow so i have to play a sweeper .im 5th in my league and 27 games in but i could be higher but i lose to the teams in the bottom ten what can i do to stop this from happining??

If you're playing away from Home, a deeper defensive line would be more efficent as the home team are more likely to come at you. and If your defense is slow, then playing a high defensive line is almost suicide, the faster strikers can just lach on to a through ball and ther'll be nothing the backline can do to stop it. Use a deep defensive line. :thup:

thats what i have been doing... including a holding midfeilder so as my wingers a can get forward...

I think Cleon asked for settings i.e do you man mark or zonal, do your fullbacks make fwd runs, closing down settings etc.

Just by explaining your formation does not help it's the tactics you utilise with a formation that make it work or not in this case.

lets see....em i dont man mark but if i did i guess that that because there slow their markers pace would loser my defender.my fdefenders mentalitys are all defensive and no one is adventures .my wingers are set to attaking and at home so is my central midfeilder whle always my holding midfelider is on normal.i never close down because my midfield would get played thru because i dont have a fast or great midfield.
